Brin Wojcicki Foundation Partners with Meals on Wheels

November 27, 2012 – Menlo Park, CA Peninsula Volunteers, Inc., (PVI)  is proud to announce that the Brin Wojcicki Foundation has granted $25,000 to the PVI Meals on Wheels program this year to help feed hungry, homebound seniors and disabled adults.

Baubles, Bangles & Bags is Back!

October 3, 2012 – Menlo Park, CA This smash hit fundraiser supporting the programs of Peninsula Volunteers returns to the Menlo Circus Club on Monday, November 12th, 2012. A highly sought after ticket, Baubles, Bangles and Bags has sold out well in advance of the event in past years. Over 150 beautiful new, gently used, premier designer and celebrity-owned handbags will be available, plus an exciting array of interesting baubles and some intriguing mystery boxes! 

Silicon Valley Community Foundation Awards Peninsula Volunteers Meals on Wheels Program $20,000 for Safety Net Services

May 2012 – Menlo Park, CA Silicon Valley Community Foundation again recognized Peninsula Volunteers Meals on Wheels with a grant of $20,000 to help provide 62,000 hot, nutritious home delivered meals to 425 low-income, homebound and vulnerable seniors and disabled adults.

Peninsula Volunteers Meals on Wheels Program Awarded $90,000 from Sequoia Healthcare District for Safety Net Services

May 2012 – Menlo Park, CA Peninsula Volunteers Meals on Wheels received a third year grant of $90,000 from the Sequoia Healthcare District to help provide hot, nutritious home delivered meals to homebound seniors and people with disabilities. The grant will support the provision of 46,875 meals to 375 seniors living in the Sequoia Healthcare District.

The "Dine Out" Campaign Benefits our Meals on Wheels Program

May 9, 2012 – Menlo Park, CA Tuesday, October 16, is the date for the 2012 “Dine Out” fundraising campaign to benefit the Meals on Wheels program at Peninsula Volunteers, Inc. Participating restaurants in San Mateo and Santa Clara County will donate a portion of the day’s proceeds to Meals on Wheels to feed local homebound seniors.

April 13, 2012 – Menlo Park, CA Dave Newhouse, the award-winning and long-time sportswriter and columnist for theOakland Tribune, has written his eighth book about his life-long fascination with the sport of boxing, based on fights he heard on the radio with his father in the late-1940s.

Eight mayors and officials will go door to door across mid-Peninsula cities bringing life-giving hot meals to homebound and frail seniors, who cannot cook for themselves.

Peninsula Volunteers, Inc. is a pioneer in senior services and was the first volunteer organization to receive a HUD grant to develop and build low-income senior housing in the United States.
