tax-exempt agency supported by special fundraising events, fees, foundation and public grants, individuals, and businesses. It develops and administers programs for the aging population of the mid-Peninsula region. |
| Job Summary: |
Responsible for the creation, implementation and on-going management of a community volunteer program for Peninsula Volunteers, Inc. |
| Duties and Responsibilities: |
- Responsible for management of the community volunteer program to support the Little House, Rosener House and Meals-on-Wheels programs:
- develop strategies for attracting suitable volunteers for our extensive variety of programs.
- implement a continuing program for recruiting, screening, training and retaining volunteers
- develop volunteer appreciation activities
- implement procedures to document and track volunteer statistical information.
- Work closely with the PVI program directors to learn and keep up-to-date on PVI programs in order to support them effectively through volunteer placements.
- Supervise and support the volunteers at Little House Adult Activity Center
- Work in conjunction with other team members to coordinate community awareness campaigns for volunteer opportunities.
- Develop and maintain relationships with individuals and organizations in order to support the activities of Peninsula Volunteers, Inc. through volunteer opportunities. Be a spokesperson for the organization.
- Write copy for the monthly newsletter.
- Coordinate with the Marketing Manager for effective media coverage.
- Other duties as assigned.

| Requirements: |
Ability to develop strong rapport with volunteers and supervise effectively.
Strong organizational skills.
Ability to work with the aging population and reach out to persons of all ages.
Work collaboratively with a wide variety of professionals and other agencies in the community.
Excellent public speaking, oral and written communication skills.
Able to effectively prioritize and follow through on details.
Team player.
Valid California Driver’s License, maintain a good safety record (verified at hire and yearly thereafter), a reliable vehicle, proof of liability insurance with a minimum of 100,000/300,000.
Acceptable background clearance. |
| Physical Requirements: |
- Able to sit at desk using computer keyboard, viewing monitor and using telephone.
- Able to do repetitive keyboard motion.
- Ability to move around the large Little House and Rosener House facilities.
- Ability to attend off-site meetings and events
- Ability to lift up to 15 lbs.

| Education and Training: |
- Experience managing volunteer programs.
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred or A.A. degree and 3 years of relevant experience.
- Knowledge of local resources
- Proficiency required using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook; PowerPoint and database knowledge helpful.

| Accountability: |
Reports to the Little House Director with expectation of a close collaboration with the other PVI program directors. |
| Hours: |
35 hour workweek. Some evening or weekend work may be required. |
| Salary: |
Depending on experience. Exempt position. Full benefits package. |
