Position Title:

Facilities Manager

Agency:

Peninsula Volunteers, Inc. develops and administers programs for the aging population of the
mid-peninsula region. It is a private, nonprofit,
tax-exempt agency supported by special fundraising
events, foundation and public grants, government, fees
for services, individuals and businesses.

Summary of Position Description:

Responsible for overseeing the facilities, maintenance and program support of Little House, an active adult activity center; and Rosener House, an activity center for impaired older adults.

           
Requirments:

  • California Department of Justice and California Department of Social Services criminal record clearance required prior to employment.
  • Valid California Driver's License
  • Maintain a good driving safety record (verified by a DMV report at hire and at least yearly thereafter)
  • Knowledge of overall plant maintenance, cleanliness, health and safety standards, and some gardening.
  • Knowledge of building codes, OSHA laws and regulations, local city codes.
  • Previous supervisory experience with staff, ability to work with contractors and sign off work orders
  • Strong interpersonal skills. Able to prioritize and organize workload.
  • Knowledge of and ability to do general repairs.
  • Knowledge of A/V equipment including laptops.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Implementation, documentation and supervision of overall plant maintenance, including but not limited to repairs, maintenance, cleanliness, health and safety.
  • Supervise maintenance and janitorial staff with room and special event setups and cleaning.
  • Coordinate pick up of materials/equipment as needed.
  • Schedule facility coverage of daily and special events.
  • Manage Emergency planning program for the organization
  • Order and maintain inventory of custodial and maintenance supplies.
  • Respond to alarm company for each location when needed.
  • Provide janitorial and maintenance duties as required.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

Education and Training:

  • High School Graduate. A.A. preferred.
  • Computer skills including Outlook and Word; Excel helpful.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Walking, bending, reaching, climbing, stooping
  • Fine motor dexterity to use hand and power tools

Work Environment:

  • Some exposure to outside weather during the course of performing duties

Work Status:

  • Full-time Exempt position. 35 hour workweek
  • Monday - Friday
  • Generous benefit package
  • May require early days, occasional Saturday or evening work.

Salary:  Dependent on Experience
