- Job Summary:
- Assist in providing educational, recreational and social activities in day center for physically/cognitively impaired older adults. Provide assistance with activities of daily living.
- Minimum Qualifications:
- Training and experience relating to working with older adults with physical and cognitive disabilities, including Alzheimer's disease; understanding of a care philosophy that promotes health, independence, safety, and dignity for program participants; skill in communicating with the participants in the day program; ability to follow written and oral directions; ability to work as part of interdisciplinary team; ability to multi-task and prioritize; ability to assist participants in activities of daily living. California Dept. Of Justice criminal record clearance required prior to employment.
- Responsibilities & Duties:
- Provide participants with assistance in activities of daily living including transfers, ambulation, eating, toileting.
- Supervise participants.
- Assist other center staff in meal and snack serving.
- Maintain a safe and healthful environment in the center.
- Lead and/or assist with group activities.
- As part of the Rosener House staff, assist in assessment of participants and development of care plan.
- Participate in staff meetings, in-service training and workshops as required.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Be trained and prepared to implement emergency procedures for group or individuals; CPR and First Aid training required.
- Other duties as necessary
- Participate in physical inventory of supplies
- Work with Controller to maintain general ledger chart accounts and create new reports.
- Maintain Journal Entry binders
- Maintain work paper binders
- Prepare for and participate in financial and non-financial agency audits
- Prepare and file various CA surveys.
- Perform related duties and special projects as assigned.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to occasionally lift up to fifty pounds
- Regularly required to walk, stand, bend, stoop, twist, kneel, reach, carry.
- Assist participants with toileting needs including transfers
- Frequently push wheelchairs
- Work Environment: Multi-purpose building environment
- Classification: Full-time
- Compensation: Commensurate with background and experience
