Thanks to your support, the Rosener House Walkers Team raised $10,000! And received the Top Partner Organization award at a special Alzheimer’s Walk appreciation event in SF.
On November 6, the Alzheimer’s Association of Northern California and Northern Nevada hosted a Celebration Party and Awards Ceremony at the City Club in San Francisco for the top fundraising teams at this year’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s in San Francisco on September 21, 2013.
Representatives from teams gathered to share their experiences as the Alzheimer’s Association recognized the commitment of the top teams, walkers, and sponsors. Funds raised support local researchers as well as the Association’s work to support families affected by Alzheimer’s disease.
The award plaque presented to Barbara Kalt, Rosener House Director, quotes Steve Jobs, “People who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who do.” The Rosener House Walkers raised over $10,000, 60% of which will come back to Rosener House as a non-profit partner. The San Francisco Walk has raised $866,819.25 so far, with a goal of $1 million. Fundraising will continue until the end of the year. After inspiring talks by an Alzheimer’s family member and CEO of the Alzheimer’s Association Bill Fisher, attendees were given jars to start the fundraising for next year’s event to “make the change you want to see in the world.” The 2014 Walk to End Alzheimer’s will be Saturday, September 20 at Mission Park in San Francisco. Mark your calendar and plan to join us as we strive to make next year even more successful.
