Stroke, the No. 1 cause of adult disabilities, impacts nearly 795,000 individuals annually. To increase awareness about stroke and support stroke survivors and their family caregivers, the nonprofit Pacific Stroke Association hosts the “Here & Now” program, which offers educational and inspirational talks.
The series is scheduled on an ongoing basis at the Little House Activity Center, 800 Middle Ave., Menlo Park, in collaboration with Peninsula Volunteers Inc.
The second Tuesday of each month features a talk in partnership with the Stanford Health Care Stroke Program. In August, the Stanford talk will address coping after stroke by recognizing the significant life change for the survivor, family and friends.
Ongoing monthly programs include a Men’s Club and a Book Club.
Admission is free and open to stroke survivors and their supporters.
