Forward Thinking Women Pioneered the Start of Peninsula Volunteers, Inc.
by Chris Berry, Director of Development
This fall marks the 70th Anniversary of PVI’s founding as a pioneering organization serving the needs of senior citizens on the Peninsula. The group of forward-thinking women didn’t have similar organizations to model the programs after. There were no senior centers in existence outside of large cities. They built up programs that continue to serve community needs today, and that will continue for decades to come.
We’ll be celebrating this year by taking a look back at the many milestones along the way, and by looking forward at what is to come for our programs and services. We hope you’ll join us for the next decade and beyond. Take a look at our website for more on our first decade at www.penvol.org/70years.
