COVID – 19 UPDATE Public Programs Suspended at PVI

To our PVI clients and local community,

In an effort to protect the most vulnerable population of our community against the spread of COVID19 and in conjunction with the City of Menlo Park deciding to close their senior center, we believe it is in the best interest of our participants that we temporarily suspend programming. PVI will be closing Little House activity center to the public effective 3/13/20 at 1 pm and will be closing Rosener House to the public effective 3/13/20 at the close of business at 5 pm.

It is important to note:

•PVI will continue to operate our Meals on Wheels program, delivering meals to homebound seniors. Our staff will be taking all normal and additional safety precautions at this time.
•The PVI Lyft program will be offering modified services during this time and the service will be to assist seniors with getting to and from medical appointments.

At this point in time, the closure will remain in effect for two weeks, reopening to the public on March 30th, 2020. This date is contingent on the status of the COVID19 and the guidance we receive from the CDC and San Mateo County’s Department of Public Health. The safety of our participants is our foremost concern.

To be clear, amongst our participants and staff, there have been no reported cases or symptoms of the COVID19. We are temporarily closing to the public only as a precaution. Senior citizens are especially susceptible to COVID19 and we want to do all that we can to protect our seniors. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause, but the safety of our seniors is our top priority.

We will continue to provide updates regarding the status of our programs on our website (https://www.penvol.org/coronavirus/).

Thank you for your support. We will get through this together.
