PENINSULA VOLUNTEERS, INC. PARTNERS WITH TECH CU TO LAUNCH TECH CONNECT PROGRAM FOR SENIORS
Menlo Park, CA – May 2021: Peninsula Volunteers, Inc. (PVI) is pleased to announce that it has received funding from Technology Credit Union (Tech CU) to enable seniors without a technology device and internet to connect with the world. This program will assist PVI to fulfill their mission to enable seniors to age in place by providing iPads and free internet service. Tech CU’s generous financial support allows PVI to deliver a much-needed service and independence to seniors by adding this new program during the pandemic and beyond. PVI is taking steps to prevent loneliness and isolation for seniors even as COVID-19 visiting restrictions ease. Getting “connected online” will help seniors find joy in virtual ways to be with family and friends, and to participate in critical online PVI programming and medical appointments.
“It is great to be working with our community partner Technology Credit Union. Because of their commitment to the community we are able to provide internet access to seniors who, for the past year, have been sheltering in place with no ability to connect to the outside world beyond their home phone. Working with Tech CU, we are aiming to change that,” said Peter Olson, CEO of Peninsula Volunteers, Inc.
“We are excited to work with Peninsula Volunteers, Inc. and believe that we have a responsibility to help improve the well-being of the communities we serve,” said Richard Ruiz, Vice President and Head of Emerging Markets at Tech CU.
