Updates on how Coronavirus is impacting Peninsula Volunteers

PVI is taking guidance from the CDC and San Mateo County in regard to how we deal with Coronavirus. The organization is taking all precautions to maintain a safe environment. If you are being treated for Coronavirus, have come in contact with someone with it, or are exhibiting symptoms please follow the recommendations of your physician and contact your regular program as soon as possible. San Mateo and Santa Clara County Public Health Departments are citing the CDC as their source. To our PVI clients and local community,

Our public programs will remain suspended through April. Our Meals on Wheels program will continue to deliver meals to homebound seniors.

  • Please see the table below for individual program updates.
  • If you would like to contribute to Peninsula Volunteers during this time donations can be made online  , through Facebook, or by mail. Our mailing address is  800 Middle Ave Menlo Park, CA 94025.
  • We also have an increased need for gloves, disinfectant wipes, and masks.
  • Donations in original packaging and individually packaged non-perishable food items: dried fruit, nuts, single-serving oatmeal, single-serving foil pacts of tuna, dried cereal, crackers, peanut butter, single-serving packets of apple sauce or fruit can need to be arranged 24hrs in advance.

  • Open gym is canceled until further notice
  • Bridge classes are canceled until further notice.

  • Retirement Lecture – Canceled
  • 3/17/20 St.Patrick’s Day Celebration – Postponed.
  • Jazzercise – canceled until further notice
  • Programs suspended beginning 3/13/20

 

  • Working to coordinate online services.
  • Meals on Wheels is taking all necessary
    precautions involving food prep and meal delivery. Meal delivery will happen as usual.

 San Mateo County has launched a hotline for non-medical related coronavirus questions. San Mateo County call 2-1-1 for non-medical, non-emergency questions about COVID-19. Text “coronavirus” to “211211” to receive useful information from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
