Rosener House

At Rosener House, our goal is to keep families together through a supportive environment for seniors with cognitive challenges and chronic conditions — and their caregivers. Our therapeutic interventions promote health, independence, and dignity for those living with Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, dementia, stroke, and other conditions while reducing the emotional and physical demands on the caregiver.

Dementia Services

The Dementia Services Program at Rosener House is dedicated to supporting our participants living with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. Our goal is to enhance the quality of life for those living with these conditions by giving them opportunities for engagement, enrichment, and a sense of belonging to a community of wonderful, supportive people.

Aging Life Soluions

Aging Life solutions specializes in concierge level service through compassionate, non-medical support to caregivers and seniors. Our customized services aim to offer peace of mind to caregivers while enabling their loved ones to age in place.

Caregiver Support

Care-giver burnout is a real thing. Taking care of a loved one who suffers from Alzheimer’s can take a heavy toll. That’s why we place such a high value on caregiver well-being. Caregivers are unsung heroes who provide countless hours of care to their loved ones, and may be at risk for diminished well-being in every area of their lives.

Additional Services and Therapies

All participants get access to a staff nurse. We provide individual and group therapy to help promote independence, strength-building, and much more!

Frequently Asked Questions

A:Adult Day Services are community-based group programs designed to meet the needs of functionally and/or cognitively impaired adults through a variety of health, social and support services in a protective setting.

A: Participants may attend 2-5 days per week.  Our hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM to accommodate working caregivers. Most participants attend during the scheduled activity program hours of 9:30 am -2:30 pm.  For information about grants, talk with our social worker.

A: Most of our participants need some form of assistance with daily living activities. They include people with physical limitations, Alzheimer’s disease, memory loss or dementia, Parkinson’s disease, stroke, heart disease, social isolation, and other age-related conditions.

A: Rosener House participants come from both San Mateo and Santa Clara counties. Some come from as far north as Burlingame, Millbrae and San Mateo through Sunnyvale, Mountain View and Los Altos. We welcome you wherever you’re from!

A: We calculate fees based on services plus the unique financial situation of our participants and their families. As such, we are much less expensive than other long-term care options. We give out a limited number of scholarships via the Older Americans Act. Qualified veterans may be eligible to receive services through the  Department of Veterans Affairs. Some long-term insurance plans cover Rosener House fees.  The Alzheimer’s Association and Family Caregiver Alliance offer respite grants to help families access Rosener House services.

A: Paratransit service is available in both San Mateo County and Santa Clara County, bringing participants door to door without any need to transfer. Learn more about these transportation options.

In 1978, a group of Peninsula Volunteers and friends started a new program for older adults with special needs, people who were not able to independently make use of the Little House Activity Center. In those days, adult day programs were very few. Through the years, Rosener House has added services to meet the emerging needs of the community. Many of the services added have a health and wellness component, such as physical, occupational, and speech therapies, health monitoring by a registered nurse, music therapy, and the specialized dementia services program.
